Pupils bring Cowal to life in 3D

Talented youngsters from schools across Dunoon and Cowal got creative during lockdown when they were tasked with building a 3D model of their favourite place in the area.

The children could make their model using any materials they had lying around their house, provided they had permission from their parent or carer.

This gave them free reign to be as creative as possible, with a variety of materials being used including wood, cardboard, Lego, paper, string, lollipop sticks, pillows, grass, and even biscuits! Entries were split into three categories: family; P1-P6; and P7. The winners were as follows:

Winning family team: The Hackett family with their model of a Calmac ferry.

Primary one to six: 1st Lily from Sandbank Primary for her model of the West Bay promenade and playpark, along with a movie; 2nd Linda from St Mun's Primary who produced an impressive large scale model of Castle House and the surrounding gardens; 3rd Louise from Dunoon Primary who built the Dunoon General Community Hospital.

Primary seven: 1st Aoife from Dunoon Primary School for her model of the Burgh Hall; 2nd Stephanie from Kirn Primary for her model of Castle House; 3rd Lewis from Dunoon Primary, who also created a model of Castle House.

P站色情片鈥檚 Policy Lead for Education, Councillor Yvonne McNeilly, said: 鈥淭he standard of entries in all three categories is out of this world. The children have really paid attention to detail and have been extremely clever in the way they鈥檝e used the materials available to them.

鈥淚鈥檇 like to congratulate every pupil who took part. They are all extremely talented and it鈥檚 clear to see they have a lot of pride in the area. Well done on your great efforts.鈥
