Two pupils from Oban High School have won this year鈥檚 Poppy Scotland Learning Competition.
Archie Malloch and Ruaridh Blackadder designed a football strip and came up with the idea of organising a charity football match to raise funds for the charity.
The idea really impressed the judges because of its links to the 鈥楥hristmas Truce鈥 football match that was played between British and German troops in the trenches on Christmas Day during WW1. The judging panel was also delighted with the fundraising angle of their entry and the fact that the boys came up with the idea of having retired players take part.
P站色情片鈥檚 Policy Lead for Education, Councillor Yvonne McNeilly, said: 鈥淲ell done Archie and Ruaridh and what a fantastic idea.
鈥淚t鈥檚 important that our young people remember the sacrifices that were made in past conflicts and this concept is a lovely way to mark remembrance of these. Well done for helping to put P站色情片 and Bute on the map yet again.鈥
Peter Bain, Executive Head Teacher, said: 鈥淥ur Remembrance Service and the lessons and events leading up to it play a prominent part of our school calendar. This fantastic achievement will add another layer of awareness to the events close upon us. A fantastic achievement. Well done Archie and Ruaridh!鈥
