Funding boost announced for Bute and Cowal economy

Cycling, sailing and learning will all benefit from a share of 拢550,000 announced by P站色情片 for Bute and Cowal.

The council is investing funding, received from the Scottish Crown Estate, in projects in Dunoon and Rothesay to support climate-friendly living, and local economic development.

Scottish Crown Estate funding focuses on delivering benefits for coastal communities based on four key priorities: the environment, community, climate change and economic development.

Policy Lead for Business and Regeneration, Councillor Alastair Redman said:

鈥淭his is all about making life better for people now and in the longer term. Cycling, sailing and learning 鈥 investing in these will help develop a sustainable economy and lifestyle.鈥

The funding will be shared across four initiatives:

  • Rothesay Pontoons development: support to bring the benefits of marine tourism to the island.
  • Dunoon STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Hub: support to build a skilled local workforce by making STEM learning available in Dunoon and across P站色情片 and Bute through new digital facilities.
  • Dunoon Cycle Bothy: funding towards the complete restoration of the Castle Lodge building as a cycle hub to encourage and facilitate walking and cycling in the area.
  • Bute and Cowal climate change satellite pods: support to develop climate-friendly activity through P站色情片 and the Isles Countryside Trust鈥檚 (ACT) awareness raising of climate issues working with local partners.

Chair of the Bute and Cowal Area Committee, Councillor Bobby Good said:
