Beating covid together -  answers to questions you may have about asymptomatic tests

Free tests are now available in Helensburgh for people without covid-19 symptoms. Here are answers to questions you may have.

Question

Answer

Why should I get tested if I have no symptoms?

People can be infectious and spread the infection to others without realising. Identifying and supporting infectious people to isolate before they develop symptoms will help reduce the spread of coronavirus.

When and where can I get tested?

Testing is available Tuesday to Saturday, 10am – 4pm, in the Church Hall, Colquhoun Square, Helensburgh.

Do I need to book before going?

No, there’s no need to book.

How long does it take to get tested?

Less than 15 minutes.

I’ve had a covid-19 vaccine. Can I still get an asymptomatic test?

People who have been vaccinated can continue to get asymptomatic tests. There is no need to wait any specific amount of time after being vaccinated.

What should I do if I test positive?

If you test positive you will need to self-isolate for 10 days.

Don't let the worry of having to self-isolate stop you from getting tested. We're here to help where we can.
