If you want to take part in next month’s Lomond North by-elections but can’t get to the polling stations, there are other ways to make sure you have your say.
You can apply for a postal vote – it’s quick and easy to do. You can find out how to apply at Voting in the Scotland by-elections | Electoral Commission . The by-election takes place on 16 December 2021 and is to elect one councillor in the Lomond North ward, where there is currently a vacancy.
If you live in that ward and want to vote by post, the deadline to apply is Wednesday 1 December 2021.
If you can’t get to the polling station yourself and would like someone to cast your vote for you, you can apply for a proxy vote.
You can download an application form from Voting in the Scotland by-elections | Electoral Commission or by calling 0800 980 0470 to ask for a form.
Once you have completed the form, you should send it to the local Electoral Registration Office. People who live in the Lomond North ward and want to use a proxy vote for the December by-election need to send their application before the deadline of Wednesday 8 December 2021 (email ero-abc@dab-vjb.gov.uk or post to PվɫÇéƬ and Bute Electoral Registration Office, Kilbrannan House, Bolgam Street, Campbeltown PA28 6JY).
For both postal and proxy votes, you can apply for just one specific election or for a longer period if you want – you will have options to do this on your application form.
