National Maintenance Week

If you are legally responsible for the repair and maintenance of a private property, there are straightforward steps you can take to protect your building from winter weather. As part of National Maintenance Week (19-26 November) PվɫÇéƬ is urging residents to carry out simple checks on properties of any age that could save money on expensive repairs further down the line.

Maintaining your building involves simple, frequent checks and minor works: clearing gutters and drains; fixing slipped slates or tiles; or replacing missing putty around glass. These simple maintenance tips not only make financial sense but will also contribute to your home being more energy efficient and have a positive impact on the value of your property.

Maintenance Week is an annual campaign organised by The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB), the UK’s oldest building conservation charity. Their free advice is appropriate for all buildings whether it’s a 1930s semi-detached or a medieval church. Visit their website for practical advice
