A former Oban High School pupil鈥檚 career is off to a flying start after taking up the position of a modern apprentice at Oban Airport.
Cameron Allen, aged 20, first visited the airport for work experience eight years ago while he was still attending school and loved it. Unfortunately, for Cameron, there were no job vacancies at the time so he went on to study computer science at the University of the Highlands and Islands.
Shortly afterwards, however, Oban Airport advertised a vacancy for a modern apprentice in aviation business administration, and Cameron was over the moon to be selected.
He said: 鈥淚鈥檝e always had a keen interested in aviation so I was delighted when P站色情片 took me on as a modern apprentice at the airport. I love my job. Every day is different and I have learned so much. I work with a great team of people too. I feel incredibly lucky to have been given this opportunity.鈥
Cameron suffers from brittle bone disease and has to rely on a wheelchair, but he doesn鈥檛 let that that hold him back.
Since he started his career he has gone on to gain his Airground ticket as well as gaining his Airport Meteorological Observer qualification. He is also a qualified drone pilot and is training to become a private aircraft pilot.
The Council鈥檚 Policy Lead for Education, Councillor Yvonne McNeilly, said: 鈥淐ameron is a wonderful example of someone who is determined to succeed and I am delighted that, through P站色情片鈥檚 apprenticeship scheme, he has been able to follow his dreams upon leaving school. I am certain he will continue to achieve great things throughout his career and wish him every success.鈥
