Hosted by the P站色情片 and Bute Planet Youth Team, this event is a collaboration between P站色情片 and NHS Highland. It鈥檚 open to everyone who plays a role in the lives of children and young people and highlights the support available to families.
The local community coming together and making decisions collectively to bring about positive change is key to the success of Planet Youth. Young people have identified local concerns including the impact of social media, lack of meeting places for young people and limited public transport. The Planet Youth team will be at the event looking for feedback from parents and carers on the following questions:
- What is good about growing up in Dunoon?
- What improvements could be made for children and young people growing up in Dunoon?
- What concerns do you have for your child and other young people growing up in Dunoon and in general?
- How can communities contribute to improvements for children and young people?
Councillor Audrey Forrest, Policy Lead for Education said:
鈥淲e all want our children and young people growing up in P站色情片 and Bute to be happy and healthy with lots of opportunities to succeed in life. Our Planet Youth Team is working in partnership to address any barriers to achieving that.
By bringing together key partners and communities, we can highlight the range of support available to help families and the opportunities on your doorstep for young people and together make Dunoon the best place to grow up. This community-wide approach encourages everyone to create better and healthier environments for our young people to grow up in.
We know that in Iceland, this initiative has delivered real change and broken down barriers to enable young people to succeed. I would encourage parents and carers to come along to the event and find out more about local services on offer to you.鈥
Sarah Peacock, Health Improvement Senior, NHS Highland:
"The P站色情片 and Bute Planet Youth Team are excited to be one of the five areas across Scotland to be working with the team in Iceland to bring changes that aim to transform our region to enable new opportunities for young people.鈥
Inspired by the successful Icelandic model of prevention, Planet Youth focusses on creating a healthier environment for our young people to thrive. By building a strong network of support with all relevant partners, the initiative aims to support children, young people and families in local communities.
