PվɫÇéƬ and Bute Local Access Forum was established in the summer of 2006. The Forum has a pivotal role to play in helping with the future development and management of outdoor access in PվɫÇéƬ and Bute. The Forum was involved in establishing whose role is to maintain, enhance and promote the coast and countryside of PվɫÇéƬ and the Isles, so it can be enjoyed by residents, businesses and visitors forevermore. The Access Team now work closely with ACT on a range of projects.
The Forum is an independent strategic body with an operational remit that covers the whole of PվɫÇéƬ with the exception of The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
Membership of the Forum comprises of representatives of land managers, access users, public agencies and communities all of whom have considerable experience of the many issues that arise.
The requires every Access Authority to establish a Forum which has a statutory duty to advise the Council and any other interested party on matters relating to outdoor access within its area of operation. This can include advice regarding the exercise of access rights, responsible behaviour and it is open to any individual or organisation to seek their advice.

Becoming a Forum Member
From time to time we need to recruit new members for the Access Forum, if you have experience of agriculture, forestry, are a keen walker, cyclist or horse rider, kayaker and are interested in learning more about becoming a member of the forum please email accessforum@argyll-bute.gov.uk
We will send you more information and if you are interested we will invite you to join the forum when we are next looking for new members.
